BetMirror Talent Vaults - Investor Guide
What is BetMirror?
BetMirror allows you to invest alongside talented traders, poker players, and prediction market experts. Instead of trading yourself, you vault your vaults with other investors and let skilled "Talents" manage them.
How Does It Work?
The Vault Lifecycle
Each talent vault operates in repeating cycles with three distinct phases:
1️⃣ Deposit Window (Open for Investment)
- The vault is open and accepting new deposits
- You can deposit USD and receive vault shares in return
- Your shares represent your proportional ownership of the vault
- Initial deposits: 1 USD = 1 Share
- Later deposits: Share price reflects the vault's current performance
2️⃣ Active Period (Trading/Playing) - Typically 1-2 months
- vault are transferred to the exchange/platform where the Talent operates
- Deposits and withdrawals are locked during this time
- The Talent uses the pooled vault for:
- Crypto Trading: Active trading on cryptocurrency exchanges
- Poker: Playing in tournaments or cash games
- Prediction Markets: Making informed bets on future events
3️⃣ Settlement Window (Open for Withdrawal)
- Vaults return to the vault contract
- Performance is calculated and fees are deducted (if applicable)
- Open for a few days allowing you to:
- Withdraw your investment (sell shares for USD)
- Add more vaults (buy more shares)
- Hold your position for the next cycle
Understanding Your Shares
What Are Shares?
Shares are like ownership certificates in the talent vault. They represent your portion of the total vault value.
Example:
- Vault has 10,000 USD total value
- You own 1,000 shares out of 10,000 total shares
- You own 10% of the vault = 1,000 USD worth
How Share Price Changes
Your share value goes up or down based on the Talent's performance:
-
Profit Scenario: Talent turns 10,000 USD into 12,000 USD
- Vault gains 20% value
- Your shares are now worth 20% more
-
Loss Scenario: Talent loses and returns 8,000 USD
- Vault loses 20% value
- Your shares are worth 20% less
Fee Structure
Fees are designed to align the Talent's interests with yours - they only earn when you profit.
Performance-Based Fees (High Water Mark)
- Only charged on NEW profits above the previous highest value
- Calculated when vaults return from the exchange
- Split between:
- Talent Fee: Rewards the skilled individual managing the vaults
- Platform Fee: Supports the BetMirror platform
Example:
- Initial deposit: 10,000 USD (HWM = $1/share)
- First cycle: Returns 12,000 USD → Fees on 2,000 profit
- Second cycle: Returns 11,000 USD → NO fees (below HWM)
- Third cycle: Returns 13,000 USD → Fees only on 1,000 (13k - 12k HWM)
High Water Mark protects you: Talents must recover any losses before earning fees again.

- Cycle Commitment: Vaults are locked during the active period (1-3 weeks)
Best Practices
- Only invest what you can afford to lose
- Diversify across multiple Talents and strategies
- Review performance history before investing
- Understand the fees for each vault
- Pay attention to deposit and withdrawal windows
Common Questions
Q: Can I withdraw during the active period?
A: No. Withdrawals are only possible when vaults are back in the contract during the settlement window.
Q: What if the Talent loses all the money?
A: In a complete loss scenario, your shares would be worth zero. However, Talents are incentivized to protect capital as they only earn fees on profits.
Q: How long are vaults locked?
A: Typically 1-2 months during the active trading/playing period, plus a few days for settlement.
Q: Can I buy more shares anytime?
A: You can only deposit during open windows (before the active period starts or during the settlement window).
Q: How are fees calculated?
A: Fees are only charged on profits above the highest previous value (high water mark), protecting you from paying fees after losses.
